  1. Finely chop the garlic clove and the onion.
  2. Heat the sunflower oil in a frying pan over medium heat and add the onion, chilli and paprika.
  3. Add the garlic and stir for a few moments, then add the water.
  4. Add the tomato paste and mix well.
  5. Add the soy sauce, maple syrup, vinegar and pinch of salt.
  6. Lower the heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Remove from the heat and blend the sauce and leave to cool.
