The owner and trained cook of BanChips, fascinated by the lifestyle and culture of the Caribbean, brought the plantain to Switzerland. After a long period of tinkering and trial and error, she succeeded in creating unique chips from the plantain. The right recipe inspired both friends and family and is the trigger for her success.
What is special about your products and their production?
Our BanChips are chips made from plantains.
Which channels do you use to sell your products?
We use online shops, retail and various food services.
How does a normal working day look for you?
We get the plantains from the wholesaler. These must first be peeled and then sliced and fried. Later they are degreased in an oil centrifuge, seasoned and packed.
Have daily processes, routines or even sales channels changed due to the Corona crisis?
Yes, of course. The procedures and routines have changed: The Federal Office of Public Health’s recommendations are implemented and strictly adhered to.
Anything else you’d like to add?
BanChips is a start-up, which fortunately was positively influenced by the Corona crisis. Online sales have increased significantly and I would like to thank Farmy for the cooperation and distribution of BanChips.
