This cake recipe is naturally sweetened with beetroot and banana. It contains nutritious fatty acids, protein and energy. A perfect snack for children (but also for adults)!
Ingredients
- 300 g peeled cooked beetroot
- 1 ripe banana
- 200 g ground hazelnuts
- 200 g flour
- 3 eggs
- 100 g dark chocolate
- 1 dl sunflower oil
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 sachet baking powder (22 g)
- 1 pinch salt

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180 °C.
- Mix the beetroot with the banana.
- Separate the egg whites from the yolks and beat them until stiff. Set the egg whites aside.
- Add the egg yolks, flour, ground hazelnuts and baking powder.
- Add the sunflower oil, chia seeds and a pinch of salt.
- Gently fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites.
- Cut the chocolate into chips and add to the mixture.
- Mix well and pour into a cake tin.
- Bake for 50-55 minutes.
